  I joined this health club over a year ago, the salesman lied to me about the opening hours, he lied about other things too- and when I found out- and tried to complain- I was told he had left the company ( 7 days after joining). I found the staff in the complex- very polite, but also incompitant. I witnessed the cleaning staff cleaning the toilets-and using the same cleaning cloth for the sink, taps and benches, which produced a strong smell of urine. I reported this, and the reception staff were unresponsive. I was lied to many times there, about pending improvements- which never happened. One was that the floor work area (part of the gym upstairs-where you do all your floor exercises) would get new matts, as the current ones were old, stained and underneith them there are potholes! While trying to do balence work- you will lose your balence if you stand on a hidden pothole. They were not replaced, and also these are cleaned with the same mop that is used for the toilet floors! The cleaners were rude, and a male one would not allow me to use the steam room one evening- as he said he had cleaned it- and needed to catch his bus, I wouldn't have minded- except for the fact that I was paying almost £100 pm membership- and I had changed into swimwear, showered, and walked all the way to the steam room- to reward my hard gym work. The restaurant may as well not be there, almost no-one uses it, and it is a basic cafe, staffed rarely- and when it is- it is by a receptionist. The food served is either high calorie for body builders, or some fruit- there is no actual snacks or meals for people on a weight loss programme. And it is pricey. Often members abuse the clubs rules- with no action taken. I witnessed a 'playboy style foam fight' in the steam room, a girl was spraying shaving foam over other people in there, and herself (some men might think this is great- I am not a man and found it disgusting), it caused the floor to become extremely slippery, and an elderly woman almost fell, but was caught by her friend. again- the club just laughed it off. I was on a waiting list for a new class, which I was told would be free- included in the membership fee, I was given a day to go to the club- to try it out, when I got there- they'd given me the wrong day, also it was not free- it was £120 for a 6 week course- of one per week. The gym is NOT air conditioned, and is stuffy- and not properly staffed, when there are staff- they are only happy to help if you pay for personal training sessions. The equiptment is not as good as the other local clubs. I eventually asked to leave, and wanted my membership cancelled. I am currently getting letters from a debt collection agency- whom have added lots of charges- and want £400! I joined this club to assist in weight loss, I worked extremely hard at the club, for almost a year- due to a health problem, it is very hard for me to lose weight- thank you to esporta- as since leaving the club, I have put it all back on- thanks to being left with no club to goto. I would recommend either virgin active (£53 pm for a great membership) or david Lloyds (£73 pm) the staff are not nice- but the club is. Also- the car parks are underground, no cameras, and often lights are not working- very scarey in winter, when it gets dark early.
