Hello and Welcome.
We all experience challenges at certain times during our lives – bereavement, loss, change, relationship problems, anxiety, depression or work problems, to name but a few. If this sounds familiar, you could benefit from talking to me.
How Counselling Can Help.
Counselling is a chance to stop, in a world that rarely lets us stop. A chance to sort out what is going on in your own head. A chance for you to process your reactions to life events and to other people and a chance for you to look after your own mental wellbeing.
What I Can Do for You.
I have many years experience of direct Counselling work, with specialist knowledge in bereavement loss and change.
I have worked with many clients, both long and short term, covering a very broad spectrum of complex issues including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, relationship issues and panic disorder.
Away from my private practice, I work at a hospice and I am particularly interested in helping people who are affected by a terminal or life-threatening conditions, as well as providing support for the bereaved. I also have significant experience in disability and mental health issues, with particular reference to parents of children who are struggling with their mental health.
I provide a supportive confidential space for you to talk through your concerns. My job is to help you develop a better understanding about yourself and to help you find your own answers. I work in a non-judgmental, unbiased way and aim to build a trusting and respectful working relationship with you.
What To Expect In Your First Session.
We will use our first session together to explore what has bought you to therapy and how we might work together. It may be that you are not sure about your reasons for counselling, for example you may have a general feeling of being "stuck" and we can look at these uncertainties together.
I fully appreciate how difficult it can be to take the first step into Counselling and aim to enable you to be listened to and supported in our work together.
